Gloria Ann Sparkman, 60, of Macclenny, Florida passed away March 7, 2013 at her residence with family by her side. She was born in Jacksonville on April 18, 1952 to Yvonne Edna Wielenbeck Nobles and the late James Edward Beach, and lived in Macclenny since 1982 after moving from Jacksonville. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Macclenny and had a passion for baking, spending many years baking at Taylor’s Parties and Pastries and Sunrise Bakery. Gloria also worked for the elections office for several years. She loved flowers, puppies, ceramics, and collecting owls.
Gloria was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ralph Franklin Sparkman Jr.; her father and sister Diane Ryals.
She is survived by her loving mother Yvonne (Taylor) Nobles and step-mother Margaret Beach of Jacksonville; children April (Daniel) Moody of Macclenny, Joseph Erwin IV of Jacksonville, Dale (Kim) Erwin of Sanderson, Danny (Debbie) Sparkman of Glen St. Mary, Terry (Donna) Sparkman of Lake City, Wanda (Jimmy) Martin and Debra Ann Crawford, both of Macclenny, and Helen (Derrik) Griffis of Raiford; brothers Michael (Charlotte) Beach and Jimmy (Rachel) Beach of Jacksonville; sisters Janeene Driggers of Jacksonville and Karen (Robert) Butler of Brunswick, GA; brother-in-law Albert Ryals; sisters-in-law Annie Mae Barton of Macclenny and Corrine Barton of Glen St. Mary; her best friend Yvonne Branch of Hot Springs, NC; 27 grandchildren; and 38 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 12 at 2 pm at her church with Dr. Edsel M. Bone and Bro. Leroy Cutler officiating. Interment followed at Oak Grove Cemetery. V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services of Macclenny was in charge of arrangements.
