Richard Hartley, father of Glen man

Richard Everett Hartley Sr., 80, died on Thursday, November 8, 2012. He was born June 30, 1932 in Jacksonville to the late Everett and Juanita Woodcock Hartley. Richard was a retired veteran of the United States Air Force with 20 years of service as a master crew chief on B-52 bombers. He was an avid Gator fan, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and will be dearly missed by all.

Mr. Hartley is survived by his wife of 58 years, Phlou; son Richard Hartley Jr. (Pam) of Glen St. Mary; grandchildren Melissa Elliott (Joshua) and Stacey Hartley; great-grandchild Harlow Elliott; a host of other relatives and friends.

A graveside service with military honors was held on Saturday, November 10 at 11 am at Evergreen Cemetery in Jacksonville with Rev. Jimmy Flanagan officiating. Cedar Bay Funeral Home of Jacksonville was in charge of arrangements.
