Darlene Lauramore, 53, of Macclenny dies

Darlene Lauramore, 53, of Sanderson died on November 6, 2012 at the Morris Center for Caring in Jacksonville with family by her side. She was born in Macclenny on July 27, 1959 to the late Kenny Wilkerson and Evelyn Combs Wilkerson. Darlene was a lifelong resident of Baker County and a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church. She graduated from Baker County High School in 1977 and retired from Prudential Life Insurance as a claims adjuster after 21 years of dedicated service. She enjoyed writing poems and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sister Linda Crews, brother Ronald Wilkerson and granddaughter Emily Binion.

She is survived by her loving husband of 18 years, John Lauramore of Sanderson; her daughter Brandi (John) Binion of Sanderson; step children Kevin (Jessica) Lauramore of Jacksonville and Amanda (Richard) Rhoden of Macclenny; brothers Wilfred (Gale) Wilkerson and Randall (Noella) Wilkerson, both of Macclenny; sisters Patricia (Ralph) Keiffer of Macclenny and Marie (Tommy) Goodbread of Raiford; brother-in-law Jimmy Crews of Sanderson; sister-in-law Susie Wilkerson of Jacksonville; grandchildren Anthony Prescott, Mitchael Combs, John “Kyle” Binion, Jacob Lauramore, Alonzo Rhoden, and Kierston Rhoden.

The funeral service was held on November 9 at 11 am at her church with Pastor Donnie Williams officiating. Interment followed at Macedonia Cemetery. V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services of Macclenny was in charge of arrangements.
