Frank Shepard, 81

Frank Warren Shepard, 81, of Glen St. Mary died Monday, July 16, at the Macclenny Nursing and Rehab Center following a long illness. He was a native of Macclenny and had resided in Glen since 1973. He served with the U.S. Air Force for 20 years, retiring as a master sgt. in 1969. He was the safety director at Aero Corp in Lake City until his retirement after 26 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, an Air Force veteran of the Korean War, a graduate of Lake City Community College, and a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed woodworking, Florida State football and the Alhambra Dinner Theatre.

Mr. Shepard was preceded in death by parents Ike Virgil and Irene Rowe Shepard. He is survived by his wife Dorothy Jean Shepard of Glen; children Russell (Ann) Shepard of Plant City, Fla., Donnie (Brenda) Shepard of Burkburnett, Texas, Debbie (Scott) Everard of Virginia Beach, Va., Kelly (Paula) Shepard of Glen and Steve (Rhonda) Shepard of Ft. Smith, Ark.; step-sons Richard D. Hartman, Thomas A. Hartman and Timothy (Karin) Hartman all of Lake City; sister-in-law Beverly Shepard of Ft. Worth, Texas; twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren also survive.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11 am on July 20 at the First United Methodist Church with Pastor Tom Pope officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on July 19, at Guerry Funeral Home in Macclenny. Please make memorials to Community Hospice, Jacksonville.
