‘Ealie’ Johnson, native of county

George “Ealie” Johnson Jr., 86, of Jacksonville died June 3, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Baker County to the late George Elie Johnson Sr. and Tempie Estelle “Dollie” Carroll Johnson on August 31, 1925. He attended the Garrett School and moved to Jacksonville in 1946 after returning from military service. Ealie honorably served in the U.S. Army during World War II and later retired as an auto mechanic after 40 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He was predeceased by 22 siblings.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Inez Rhoden Johnson of Jacksonville; children Larry (Becky) Johnson of Switzerland, FL and Elaine (Erny) Clausnitzer of Wesley Chapel, FL; grandchildren Stephanie (Chris) Brown, Avery (Zack) Keen, Loraine (Gid) Moser and Paula (Darrell) Wranovics; great grandchildren Wyatt and Tyler Brown and Logan Moser; numerous nieces and nephews and his Moody Canal and Perry Canal Friends.

The funeral service will be held at V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services chapel on Thursday June 7, at 2:00 pm. Visitation will be on Wednesday June 6 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home.
