Mary Trimble, 83, of Jacksonville

Mary Frances Penney Trimble, 83, died Monday, April 30, 2012 in Jacksonville. She was born September 5, 1928 in Daytona Beach to William E. and Stella Marie (Fender) Penney and graduated from Lee High School. She retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield after 20 years as a congressional claim examiner. Penney was a faithful member of Murray Hill Methodist Church in Jacksonville for over 40 years.

Her true passions were her family and reading, particularly the Bible. Penney encouraged a book club at St. Catherine Laboure Manor, which proudly had four members. She loved to garden and decorate for all seasons. Penney was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband of 45 years Fred Trimble.

Survivors include son John (Susan) Gore; daughters Jeannie (Lennart) Gore-Lilieholm, Jennifer (Wendell) Gore-Crews of Macclenny, and Kim (Steve) Trimble-Blanc; grandchildren Rebecca (Eric) Prather, Kyle (Anna) Olmstead, Kathy (Jeff) Burns, Julie Schneider, Eric (Heather) Crews, Julie (Shawn) Wooley, Amy (TJ) Sapp, Justin Crews, Stephanie Blanc, Daniel Blanc, and Sarah Blanc; 22 great-grandchildren and three cousins.

The funeral service was held 11 am, Friday, May 4 at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home with Pastor Elmer Crews officiating.
