Curtis Williams, master electrician

Curtis Albert Williams, 83, of Macclenny died on May 25, 2012. Mr. Williams was born March 2, 1929 in Macclenny, the third of 11 children born at home to the late Arthur and Edna Marie Williams. He is survived by children Janice Edmond, Audrey Jackson, Renee Williams, Curtis Williams and Kurtina Marvins; 11 grandchildren and two  great-grandchildren numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

He was married to Cloretta Williams until 1998 and the late Jimmye Owens Williams from 1999 until her death in 2011. He was preceded in death by siblings  Walter, Rudolph , Clarence, Dollie Mae and Winston Williams.


Mr. Williams attended Baker County schools and served in the military during the Korean War. He returned and attended Florida Normal College (now Florida Memorial College)  to become a master electrician, which later led to him becoming a state certified chief electrical inspector. He retired as an inspector for the City of Boca Raton.

He joined Allen Chapel AME in Macclenny at an early age. In his later years, he attended First Missionary Baptist Church in Fernandina Beach.

The funeral service for Mr.  Williams will be 10:00  am on Saturday, June 2 at Faith Bible Church in Sanderson with Rev. Videll Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on June 1 at the church. Combs Funeral Home of Lake City is in charge of arrangements.
