Charles Wellhausen funeral on May 8th

Charles Evan Wellhausen,  70, of Maxville died May 3, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Aberdeen, South Dakota to the late Walter Wellhausen and Beatrice Jones Wellhausen on November 16, 1941. Charles was a resident of Jacksonville since December 1972. He worked on his father’s farm, enjoyed drinking coffee and eating Buffalo cookies. He also enjoyed watching the Price is Right and Jeopardy.

Mr. Wellhausen loved riding on any moving vehicle, from tractors and lawn mowers to automobiles. He spent his days visiting his family, walking from house to house and became known as the road patrolman of Loest and North Road. He was predeceased by his grandmother Jenny Jones.

Survivors include his closest living relative, Aunt Dora Wellhausen North of Maxville; primary caregivers Russell and Helen Tobias of Maxville and a host of caring, loving cousins and friends.

The funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 8 at 11 am at the V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services chapel with Pastor Richard Fish officiating. Interment followed at Long Branch Cemetery.
