Edna Hobbs, 85, of Macclenny died April 9, 2012. She was born in Frostproof, FL to the late Dan C. Willis and Ruth Gertrude Ward Willis on September 9, 1926. She was a life long resident of Baker County. Edna was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting and tending to her flowers, but most of all she enjoyed cooking for her family. She made each member of her family special dishes just for them at family events.Mrs. Hobbs took pride in teaching her children and grandchildren life lessons of honesty and sportsmanship through winning and losing of board games. She was a caregiver and took care of her family and late husband in sickness and in health. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years Oscar Floyd Hobbs; daughter Kathy Robertson and six siblings.
Survivors include sons Floyd Mitchell (Brita) Hobbs of Plains, GA and John (Charlotte) Hobbs of Glen St. Mary; son-in-law Al “Robbie” Robertson of Macclenny; grandchildren Teresa (Gary) Manning, Bryan (Lily) Hobbs, Geri Hobbs, Lauren (Nick) Hicks, Courtney (James) Mann, Jennifer K. Harvey and Amanda L. Robertson; 11 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 12 at 11 am at Ferreira Funeral Services with Pastor Edsel Bone officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Macclenny. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 11 from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.
