Edward “Ray” Raulerson Sr., 65, of Cuyler died January 31, 2012 at Acosta – Rua Center for Caring in Jacksonville with family by his side. He was born in Jacksonville on January 9, 1947 to the late Noah and Ruby Connor Raulerson. Ray was a lifelong resident of Baker County where he attended Christian Fellowship Temple.He retired after 30 years of dedicated service as a Mill Tech from Gerdeau AmeriSteel and he served his country proudly in the United States Army. Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, being outdoors, working in his garage and helping others. He loved animals especially his dog, Rosco. Ray was preceded in death by his parents and older baby brother Marvin Raulerson.
Survivors include loving wife of 40 years Melvie Jean Raulerson of Cuyler; children Eddie (Tammy) Raulerson of Taylor, Allen Raulerson of Glen St. Mary, and Donna “D.D.” (John) Crawford of Glen St. Mary; brother Roger (Glenda) Raulerson of Cuyler; sisters Annette (Lawrence) Manning of Glen St. Mary, Carolyn (Robert) Manning of Macclenny, and Lynn (Randall) Taylor of Cuyler; eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, February 3 at 2 pm at his church with Pastor Tim Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Turner Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 2 from 6-9 pm at the Ferreira Funeral Services Chapel.
