Neila Crews, 92, of Macclenny dies

Neila Odom Crews, 92, of Macclenny died February 15, 2012 at Cypress Creek Assisted Living Facility, Sun City, Florida. Mrs. Crews was a resident of Baker County for the past 65 years and was the daughter of the late King Solomon and Leoma Taylor Odom.

She retired from the Winn-Dixie produce department after 20 years and also enjoyed working at the former Karalle’s Town Shop in Macclenny. She was an organizer of the Friends of Baker County Nursing Home and a member of the Women’s Club, where she received the Woman of the Year award in 2000. She was a member of the Glen First Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Edward Crews.

Survivors include daughters Willine (Ray) Yarbrough, Ocala and Barbara Ann (Richard) Amos, Dover, FL; brother Ralph Odom of Macclenny; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren also survive.

The funeral service for Mrs.   Crews was held Saturday, February 21 at 3 pm in the chapel of Guerry Funeral Home with Rev. Elmer Crews officiating. Interment followed at Macedonia Cemetery.
