Alma Rhoden, 91, amazing cook

Alma Lee Rhoden, 91, of Glen St. Mary died April 15, 2011. She was born in Duval County to Will Carter and Alice Cone Carter on November 24, 1919, and was a resident of Baker County most of her life. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Glen for 70-plus years.

Alma loved her grandbabies, crocheting, embroidery, yard work and was an amazing cook. She adored her cats Tink 1, 2 and 3. She was predeceased by sons Elton Rhoden and Virgil Rhoden; brother Charlie Carter.

Nannie’s survivors include daughter Laverne (Murray) Richardson of Glen St. Mary; special sister-in-law Iva Dell Rhoden; one daughter-in-law; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grand-children; seven great-great-grand-children.

The funeral service was held April 18 at 10:30 am at First Baptist Church of Glen St. Mary with Pastor Ray McKendree officiating. Interment followed at Long Branch Cemetery in Maxville. Ferreira Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.
